For María Rodríguez coffee is her heritage, she represents and continues three generations of coffee cultivation. Born and raised on her family’s farm in Palestina, Huila, after her father’s passing, María took the leadership of the farm. Seeking to advance her family's craft, María enrolled in the SENA (National Research and Development Institute) in Colombia, where she fell in love with the unexplored coffee varietals and advanced processing techniques and began planting geisha, pink bourbon, and SL28 trees on her farm. This coffee is an SL28 lot that has an incredibly sweet and syrupy profile, resembling blackberry jam with concord grapes and cherry.
María hopes for her son to not only receive training in the family's craft but to also carry it forward and take it to new heights.
